Matthew T. McGonigle
Matt, the founder of The MTM Financial Group, is directly responsible for the development, growth, and progress of the company. He manages the daily operations of MTM Retirement Resources, Inc., a full service retirement planning company, as well as First Descent Financial Marketing, which provides marketing solutions to financial professionals. For more than a decade, Matt has been a self-employed business owner. He has extensive experience working with individuals, small businesses, and financial institutions; assisting with sales,developing and executing marketing campaigns; generating successful loan participations; and recognizing unique opportunities in various financial industries. Matt has providedadvice to personal and business clients seeking to improve their margins, protect their assets, return on investments, and overall financial results.
Matt is also the founder of the United States Institute of Retirement Planning, which provides complimentary retirement services, education, and information to retirees nationwide. Matt firmly believes that retirees should not have to pay costly fees to obtain suitable retirement advice. Matt is a graduate of Ohio Wesleyan University with a BA in political science, pre-law and BFA minors, with aconcentration in graphic design and advertising. While in college, Matt was the president of Phi Gamma Delta,a member of Omicron Delta Kappa, a member of the Ohio South Olympic Development Soccer Team, and founder of the Owl Club for Scholarly Gentlemen.
Prior to founding The MTM Financial Group, Matt spent time pursuing an education in intellectual property law. After deciding that a career in law did not allow him to explore his creative side, Matt transitioned to traditional life insurance sales and marketing after relocating to Minneapolis, MN. Within two years, Matt was a top recruiter and top producer within BDMS & Associates, Inc., a regional life insurance agency. Matt was a top producer at multiple national insurance companies from 2001-2003 and launched his own agency, MTM Retirement Resources, Inc. in 2004 following that success. Over the next few years, The MTM Financial Group was founded in addition to numerous strategic partnerships and affiliate companies.
